Usually I get so mad when I use these stupid machines because something goes wrong, or there is an error somewhere. You name it, it has happened to me. But I went to the store yesterday for three items. I decided that I didn't want to waste time standing in line with Taycee to check out and I would brave the self checkout lane. To my surprise we got through the three itemes without any major glitches. As our receipt was printing the machine said "Please take your reciept" I took my receipt and the machine said "Thank you for shopping at Bashas" Taycee was standing there and she leaned in to the machine and said "You're Welcome" Ha Ha!! I was so glad we used the self checkout after that comment!

Prayer

We sat down for dinner the other night. I asked Taycee if she would say the blessing on the food. She asked if Daddy could help her. So she started to say the prayer. Scott told her to say we're thankful for Jesus, and the prophet. He then started to bless the food and she said, "And Moroni Dad. And Moroni. Thankful for Moroni"

My parents gave us an ipad for Christmas this year. Taycee of course loves it even though we got her a leappad. The other day she was playing on it and I asked her if I could see it for a couple of seconds to look something up. She ignored me. So I asked her a couple more times. Finally she turned around with her hand in the stop position and said, "Mom, just be patient ok?? Just be patient." Seriously. Where does she come up with this kind of stuff??

Hailey, Scott's sister got married while we were home for Christmas. It seems like everytime we are in Idaho there is a wedding. It was so pretty and we are so happy for her.

I am finally getting around to updating our blog from Christmas. I know I know it is January 24th but better late than never right? We had an absolute blast with Christmas this year. Taycee and I stayed for a month which was a long time but it was a lot of fun to spend time with family. Scott was able to stay a couple of weeks. Here is the shortened version of our trip.

This is Taycee Hiding after she met Devin's dog Bruce for the first time. Bruce came running in the house, he really is a nice dog and Taycee said "Mom he's trying to eat me."

Alli took this kitty from the Robisons and brought it to Taycee. Taycee immediately fell in love with it. The only problem was my mom ran it over in the garage. The next morning Taycee woke up asking for it. I told her we had to take it back to it's mommy. So sad :(

Alli graduated from the nursing program at BYU-I when we were there. Way to go Alli!

It didn't snow very much while we were in Idaho so when it did we took advantage of it.

If you asked Taycee what she wanted for Christmas she would say a pink dinosaur. I have no idea where she got that from but that is what she wanted. I don't know if any of you have searched for one but there aren't too many of them. Once again Santa Clause came to the rescue. I was so excited for her to see it that morning. When we got downstairs and she spotted it she said, "That's not a pink dinosaur, that's not it." Oh geez. Talk about depressing. I guess our pink dinosaur wasn't what she had pictured it to be. Luckily as the day went on she forgot that she didn't like it and started to play with it.

Poor Justin. Taycee had a thing for sitting on his head. Weird....yes!

And who doesn't like to play in the TV boxes after Christmas.

So when Taycee and I first got to Idaho it was crazy. We got to Idaho on Thursday and had my Grandma's funeral on Friday. Taycee and I were the last ones to get ready to head out to the funeral on Friday. I was busy trying to untangle a necklace that I wanted to wear and Taycee was just playing with the house phone. All of a sudden I heard "911 what's your emergency" Yes, that's right. We had our first 911 call. What are the chances of her dialing that number? Crazy!

The other night I asked Taycee if she was tired. She responded with, "No I not yawning yet." Funny Girl! There is never a dull moment around our house.

Yes I can now fit her hair into two pony tails without a pound of hairspray. But she hates to have her hair in "ponies" so it usually doesn't get done. I love her curly mess anyway.

MS Walk Phoenix Zoo 2011

Once again this year we participated in the Multiple Sclerosis walk at the Phoenix Zoo. This year it was actually kind of cold and rainy but it felt nice to have cool 50 degree weather for a change. We just had to bundle Taycee up because she seriously thinks 75 degree weather is cold. I wish I would have gotten a picture of all the walkers, but I love going to this event because it feels so awesome knowing all of the support this disease has and it gives me hope for a cure one day. This year they had over 3,900 participants and raised over $250,000.

Thanks to Golnaz and Mo who came and supported our team. We had some more teammates from the school but other things came up and they couldn't come. Also thanks to all who donated to our team.

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Pumpkin patches are usually a time where you feel that crisp fall breeze, and you might even have to pull out some sweaters and winter coats because the temperature is starting to drop. Well, not in AZ! We still try to wear the least amount of clothes possible and spend the majority of the event dripping in sweat. For that reason we only stayed for maybe at the most 20 minutes and then decided it was way to hot! Needless to say we had a great time, and Taycee was brave and rode on a horse. We actually didn't even ride out to the pumpkin patch because it was to hot! Oh you gotta love Arizona. Give it a couple more weeks and I promise I will be done complaining about the heat. :)

Dinner

Taycee and I sat down to eat last night. Scott was still at school. I was spending my time trying to get her to eat some more green beans. In the middle of a bite she looked at me and said, "Mom my best friend." Seriously melted my heart. She is definitely my best friend too! She is such a blessing to have in our lives.

There is nothing better when Taycee comes up and wraps her arm around you and says, "Mom, I love you mucho!" Thats right folks our house is bilingual.

A couple of days ago I was talking to Jocelyn on the phone. I got off the phone and Taycee asked, "Who was that?" I said, "That was Joce." She then went on to say "Oh I like Joce mucho!" Then paused and said, "and I like Alli poquito." Ha ha.
I have to explain this. I taught her to tell me that she loves me mucho with her arms out wide and that she loves her dad poquito with her fingers showing a little. Probably not the best thing to teach your child No.....funny though?..... Heck yes!

Lately we have been working on the alphabet. She is getting pretty good at it. When my mom is around her she always says zebra for the letter Z and at the end of the song instead of singing next time won't you sing with me...she will tease her and say something like next time won't you go eat ice cream. Taycee always says "Nooooo grandma." Well the other day Scott and I were riding in the car with her and we were singing the alphabet. At the end of the song I said "Next time won't you sing with Mickey." She giggled and said "Noooooo" and so I said "well, next time won't you sing with who then?" She said, "Donald." Ha ha ha. Priceless!

She is definitely a silly girl! But we love her "Mucho!"

Weekend away from the heat!

A couple weekends ago we went up to Show Low, AZ to a friend's cabin. It was beautiful and the weather was amazing! It reminded me a lot of Island Park. Maybe thats why we liked it so much :) We went with McKay and Liz (who so kindly invited us) and their little baby William, and also with Tyler, Kristen, and their boys Ryder and Ryan. Taycee had a blast. She loved having sleep overs and loved staying at the "Big House." The night we got home she said "I wanna go to the Big House."

I am so behind on blogging lately. I have been enjoying the 90 Degree weather in Idaho. We did so many fun things and I know that this post won't tell all of what we did but trust me we had fun everyday.

Taycee has been saying the funniest things lately so I of course have to blog about them so I remember them.

The other day I was in a hurry and needed to kill two birds with one stone, so I asked Taycee if she would shower with me to save some time. Usually she would say no because she doesn't like water in her face but this time she said yes. So we got in the shower together (sorry a little TMI???) Anyways so while we are showering I turn to put my face in the water to wash it off. All of a sudden I hear "Cute bum Mom" Ha ha. I couldn't stop laughing for the longest time. What a compliment huh?? Kids say the darndest things. :)

We are in Idaho right now. Which is awesome because it gives us a lot of free babysitters :) The other day I had to run somehwere real fast and Taycee was still napping so I told my brother to listen for her to wake up. Well I guess she woke up and he went in there to get her. He said "Taycee can I get in your crib with you?" She of course said "NO" He said "Am I too big" She said "NO" He said "Am I too fat" She said "No mommy's fat!" Ha ha.......the reason she said that is because everytime I get dressed and look in the mirror I say "Taycee I'm fat" Guess I should start saying "Taycee I'm Skinny" :) Love this age!

Taycee loves fish. We took her to the AZ aquarium and she had a blast. She of course cried when we left. The rest of the day all she talked about was the two sharks she saw. She thought it was great. Scott and I loved it because it was in an air conditioned place.

Movies

Taycee loves watching movies lately. First it was Finding Nemo. After a month or two I finally got her to switch to Toy Story 3. We have been watching it for quite a while.

I was getting quite sick of Toy Story 3 so I decided to buy Cars thinking she would like it. So that night we bought it I put it in the TV in our room. It wasn't about 5 minutes into the movie she came into the living room looked at me and said "It's dumb. I want Toys" Seriously?? Where in the world did she come up with the word dumb and how did she even know how to use it in a sentence properly. I guess she really is a sponge and we definitely need to be more careful with what we say around her. :)

Sorry Cars you didn't make the cut but give it another month or two and she will watch you non stop for 4 or 5 months straight!

Ice Cream

This is Taycee's favorite ice cream right now. Last night we all had ice cream and she was super excited for her orange cream. She was sitting in her high chair and Scott came over and said "Can I have some." She looked at him very seriously while she was treating her self to a spoon full of it and said "ewwww ucky, it's ucky" Ha Ha. Scott and I definitely had a good laugh.

5 Years

Yesterday was our 5 year anniversary. I can't believe that it has been five years. We have done a lot of fun things over the last five years and had a lot of accomplishments. I can honestly say that this past year I think we became closer than ever as we went through all of my medical issues together. I am so thankful for Scott and his continued support and hard work. He has worked so hard these past two years in school and is finally going to be able to breathe a little when he gets into the clinic come the middle of May. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us! Here's to many more!!

What a great birthday Taycee had this year. First we went to McDonalds to lunch to play with her friends Ryder and Ryan. Then we went to Krispie Kreme Doughnuts and got a free dozen glazed doughnuts for her birthday and shared them with Ryder and Ryan. Then we had a party later that night. It was a fun eventful day and she was so excited to open presents and blow out her candles even though she didn't blow hard enough to blow them out.

We are so blessed to have this little girl in our lives. She has brought so much joy

and laughter to our lives over the past two years. We can't wait to see what the future holds and we are so excited to continue to watch her grow and mature (even though sometimes I wish she could stay little forever.) We Love you Taycee. Happy 2nd Birthday!!

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter weekend. Holidays are so much more fun when you have a two year old to enjoy them with. She was so excited for the Easter bunny and all week had been saying that the Easter bunny was going to bring her "canny." Needless to say she was so excited when she saw her Easter basket because he brought more than just "canny."

Today Taycee and I took a quick trip to get groceries. As we were walking outside heading to the car enjoying the beautiful 85 degrees weather I felt something on my head. I reached my hand up there to see what it was and yes......you guessed it BIRD POOP! What are the chances of that happening. I guess that bird saw a head of black curly hair and decided that would be a great place to drop his business. SICK! I told Taycee a bird pooped on my head and so on the ride home she kept saying ewwww poop, ewwww poop! I guess this bird read the "how to" manual!

Holm Visit

Scott's family came for a visit this last weekend. I didn't get any pictures of them because I am terrible at getting my camera out. But Taycee did get a couple of cute outfits from her Grandma Liz and So I snapped a picture of her in one of them. I can't believe how big our little girl is. She is going to be 2 in a week. It's crazy how fast time goes!!

Easter Eggs

Growing up my family always dyed easter eggs. So I thought this year would be a great year to start that tradition with our little family. Taycee had a blast. It was a little scary letting her drop the eggs into the dye (reason why she doesn't have any clothes on). She would try to do it really soft but usually ended up splashing some of the dye out of the cup. She would get really excited to see the eggs all colored and would shout on the color of the egg. We did have a couple accidents where she dropped them and they cracked open but overall it was a lot of fun!

Fish

Taycee is so in love with the movie "Finding Nemo" right now so when my parents came for a quick visit to watch a couple get married in the Mesa Temple my mom had to spoil her with her very own fish. The fish is blue and so we named her Dori. Taycee loves to watch the fish swim around and she always says "Fishy swimming home" Meaning the fish is swimming in her home. As of right now the fish is healthy and thriving and its been almost three weeks. Yay to us on keeping our first pet alive!

Trip to Idaho

Taycee and I took a trip to Idaho the end of March to get one last free flight before she turns 2. We had such a great time spending time with family(Even though the wind blew everyday and it was still cold). We took Taycee and her two cousins Taten and Tanner to blast off. They had so much fun there!! Also I spent a lot of time with Devin's new fiance Carly while I was there and I am so excited for them to get married the end of July!

So its getting down to the wire for the Bachelor season. Who is your pick?? I am hoping for Emily. I think she is a classy down to earth girl and she would make a great wife. But what do I know?? I don't like to pick a winner because it seems like whoever I want to win never does. And usually they end up in a break up. Why I spend my time watching this show I have no idea but I love it and I look forward to every season :)

Michelle she is another story. Who knows whats wrong with that girl?? I little bipola?r I don't know.

Ashley that just got kicked off. She looks ten times better as a brunette don't you think?

And I think the new bachelorette should be sweet Ashley. The one that got kicked off in Vegas! My guess is that its going to be Dentist Ashley. I hope not I think she is kind of annoying.

So thats my take on the Bachelor this season. It is now 11:30 and time for bed. Can't wait for next week!!

This little girl is finally starting to get hair! I think it's wonderful (maybe a pain too because she doesn't like to have her hair done.)

Yes this is what I had removed on my knee on Wednesday. Recovery is going pretty good besides being sore and throwing up on the first day due to anesthesia. Today I am limping around without crutches. But mostly I am just sick of sitting on the couch in the same position. Hopefully things will look upbeat tomorrow because I got Scott some Jazz Phoenix tickets for his birthday and I am bound and determined to go...even if he has to throw me over his shoulder and carry me to our seats (we are still a little uncertain of our fan status with the Jazz now that Jerry Sloan retired) :(

I am thinking I am going to have a pretty big scar?? Hopefully not! And there really is a knee cap there it's just super swollen.

And I had to post a couple of the pictures from Taycee's last photo session with Tasha Price while we were home in Idaho. I was so shocked at how many good ones we got because she was not loving the idea of having her picture taken. But I was very pleased with how they turned out. Here are just a couple of my favorites.

Vegas Baby!

For my birthday this year Scott and I decided to take a weekend getaway to Vegas. My mom came down and watched Taycee. It was the first time I had left Taycee over night so I was a little nervous but of course she was fine and we had a blast! We stayed in the Aria hotel which is one of the newest hotels on the strip. It was such an awesome room.

We went to the Terry Fator show. He's the ventriloquist that won America's Got Talent a couple years back. He was so talented. It was so funny!

The World's Largest Chocolate Fountain at the Bellagio hotel. Its in a pastry shop. They make the best crepes there. We had to go back twice they were so good!

On the way home we stopped at the Hoover Dam to take a picture from the newly built bridge.

This is the new bridge that just opened up. It makes it so you don't have to go over the Hoover dam and you can bypass all the traffic going to the Hoover Dam

And I can't have a post without pictures of Miss Taycee. She is so much fun lately and is getting so much attitude. Just love her and all of the new things she's learning.

Taycee and Kingston on her Power Wheels

2010 was a great year but I am so excited to see what 2011 has in store for us. We feel extremely blessed even though we had a couple of difficult trials in 2010 and are so thankful for the blessings that we recieved through it all.

About 4 days after Christmas I got a call from my neurologist for my MRI's I had done before leaving AZ for break. He was full of great news and it was an answer to all of our prayers. He told me that the Medicine has been doing its job and he saw great results in my MRI. A lot of my lesions are inactive right now which means that they aren't damaging the Mylin Sheath that surrounds the nerve, and the lesions have shrunk in size so they aren't as inflammed right now. It doesn't mean that just because they are inactive they will stay like that, but for the time being thats how they are. I was so thrilled to hear that news. It was one of the best Christmas presents I recieved. The doctor said he doesn't usually get to give this good of news after only being diagnosed for 6 months and he said "Whatever your doing keep on doing it because its working." So between the shots and all the many prayers I think we are on the right track to keeping me healthy. Its just great to know that I am not giving myself a daily shot for nothing. So, I hope that this great news can continue into 2011 for quite a while! I hope everyone had a great holiday season!!

Christmas 2010

This is a picture overload from our vacation in Idaho for X-mas. It was so much fun to go home and spend time with our family and friends. We were all spoiled rotten and got a lot of great things. We stayed at Scott's house on Christmas Eve and spent Christmas morning with them. We told Taycee that Santa had come to visit and brought her presents. She was so excited and when we walked down the staris she walked right past the toys that were sitting out and looked around the couch. She turned towards us and said "Where 'Danta'" She was a little confused and thought Santa was downstairs waiting for her. It was priceless and so cute!

I need to give the story to the next two pictures to understand what Scott is wearing. Our sister-in-law Whittney had drawn Scott's name for Christmas on the Holm side. She asked him if he would want a hat with Cody's company's name on it. Scott replied with "I would rather have a hat that said 'I am Gay' on it." So sure enough that is what he got......

Taycee was spoiled rotten by both sets of grandparents. My parents got her a cute little kitchen set.

The best thing that happened over the break was being able to go to the temple and take my Grandpa Bailey's name through for his endowment and also sealing my Grandma to him and to their children. What an awesome experience that was. I know that Grandpa Bailey was smiling that day!

Its a lot of work to get a kid bundled up to play in the snow. By the time we all got ready I was sweating.

Then we got outside and Taycee wanted nothing to do with the snow. She didn't like it when we put it on her snow pants. So lets just say it was a lot of work for the total of 10 minutes we actually played in the snow. Oh well...maybe next year? :)

I really love October. Especially because it finally starts to cool down in AZ and we are able to get out and do some fun stuff without sweating to death.

There is a fun Children's Museum in downtown Phoenix so a couple of Saturdays ago we took Taycee to it. She had a blast. The Museum was so fun and so creative. It was great for all age groups.

This vent blew up air. It took Taycee a while to get used to it but she eventually go brave enough to stand close to it.

Carving Pumpkins

Oreos kept Taycee entertained while Scott and I carved pumpkins. Yes she was a mess afterwards though.

We went to the "BOO BASH" that Scott's school puts on every year. I was so excited to dress up in our Flinstone costumes and though for sure ours would be the best...until we saw another couple in his class with the same costumes :( Ha Ha It was so funny. But...we had a pebbles and they didn't. I am pretty sure that she was the best part of the costume!

Also Taycee had her 18 month check up on the 29th. They had to remeasure her because the nurse thought she had totally measured her wrong...but she got the same measurement twice. I guess Taycee had been going through a growth spurt?? She had grown 3 inches in 3 months. WHAT?!? The Doctor said that usually at 2 years they can double their height and thats a good estimate as to how tall they will be. Well if we doubled her height at 18 Months she will be 5'10. So who knows what she will be at 2 years. I guess we will have a volleyball player/basketball player/ballerina/model on our hands? I always wished I was taller. But I really hope for her sake she isn't 6'0 tall!

Band Aids

Most kids love band aids right? They usually want one even when they don't have an ouie. (sp?) I came home from the gym on Tuesday with a blister so I got out the band aids. I figured I would need two since Taycee likes to do everything I do. So I put mine on my heel and got hers out and put it on her leg. She immediatley started crying! It was not a mad cry it was probably one of the saddest cries ever with big huge tears. I am not really sure why she didn't like it. The only thing I can think about was she was associating the band aid with shots? Who knows?? I guess we will steer clear of band aids for a while.

So the other day Taycee and I sat down to eat a quick lunch before doing a couple of other things. As I am getting ready to feed her I notice that she has her arms folded, her head bowed, and she is speaking her usual gibberish. I couldn't believe my eyes. She was saying her own little prayer. Wow! Talk about something that made me feel terrible. What a great example she is to me. You don't realize how much your kids watch you and pick up on the things you do, until you notice them doing it themselves.

Funeral and the Zoo

September...What a crazy month! Let me start from the beginning. We got home from Idaho on August 1st from Summer vacation. We got settled in to being back at home in AZ. It was wonderful! Then Labor day weekend came around and we decided we needed to take a trip back up to Idaho because my Grandpa Taylor wasn't doing very well and had been in the hospital for quite some time. So we went home again to Idaho and stayed for about a week.. Two weeks later my Grandpa Taylor died so we turned around and went back to Idaho. I am so thankful that I took that extra trip over Labor Day to spend a little more time with my Grandpa before he passed away. My Grandpa Taylor was such a good man. He was so charitable to everyone around him and loved everyone he met. He didn't have a mean bone in his body. What a great example he was to me of befriending everyone. He will greatly be missed. While it was a sad day at his funeral what a blessing it is to have the Plan of Salvation and the knowledge that one day we will see him again.

On a much lighter note we did find some fun things to do while back in Idaho. We definitely enjoyed the weather and spent a lot of time outside in the sun.

Taycee LOVED petting the goats...in fact she loved it so much she decided she needed to give them a kiss....yes thats right she bent down and kissed one of their backs. I was tempted to wash her mouth out with soap...YUCK!

Yes..she was spoiled while she was home. She rode the rides in the mall. My mom said that I can thank her when Taycee wants to stop and ride all the rides at the mall back in AZ.

Taycee is so much fun right now. She is so intrigued with everything! She has been such a trooper flying back and forth this past month and she is an expert at flying. I think she thinks it is just part of her daily life. She is learning so fast and is a sponge! She is always doing new tricks and things that amaze me. However she has officially learned the word "no" which I am not too happy about because everything I ask her she responds with "Nooooo" in a whining voice. I can't help but laugh most times. She is a busy bee but I love it. It passes the time while Scott is away studying at school.

We Are Alive!

Holy cow! Yes we are still here. It has been a crazy past couple of months with me getting diagnosed, Scott taking his boards, and my sister getting married. But we made it through all the craziness and are just trying to get caught up on our sleep and getting Miss Taycee back on a schedule.

After I got diagnosed the first week of June I realized that Taycee and I were going to have to head home. I still didn't have my feet back underneath me yet and Scott needed to start studying hard for his first year boards so, we flew out early and left Scott in the heat to study away. Needless to say it paid off and he passed his boards. What a relief that was! He came up to Idaho and we spent our break in Idaho from the 4th of July till the 1st of August. It was so relaxing to be by family and to have baby sitters so we could go on dates every once in a while :) Not to mention to get out of the blistering heat (since July is usually the hottest month in AZ). My oldest sister got married the end of July. It was such a great way to end our vacation at home. It was so fun to help out and watch them get sealed in the temple. I do honestly think weddings are a lot more fun when your not chasing a crazy 15 month old around everywhere :) but it was still a lot of fun.

As for me I am feeling pretty dang good. I started on the medication while in Idaho and so far I think its doing its job. I give myself a shot once a day. It isn't really that bad, more of a pain, but I have a husband who always reminds me that I need to take my shot. I have learned that until it cools down here in AZ that I won't be spending much time out and about. I had an experience with the heat, and how it affects your MS, so I think I will be staying in doors from now on (or atleast until it cools down in the 90s). Thanks for all the great comments on the last post. It sure means a lot that we have so many people thinking of us as we go through this trial in our lives and we really do appreciate it!

I will post pictures soon of the wedding and our trip home. I am in desperate need of a new computer because it takes forever to upload pictures on mine so either I am going to have to start using Scott's computer to blog, or get a new computer. I am hoping for a new one :) but we will see what happens!

Everything happens for a reason...

This past week I have learned that everything happens for a reason. There is a reason why we came down here to dental school (not only because Scott worked hard and got in) but because of the events that have transpired over the last couple of days.

About two weeks ago I woke up to my vision going really blurry in my right eye, pain with eye movement and it really started to bother me. I started to get a little worried and decided I would go to the optomotrist. After going there I was told to go to an optomalogist. Through our insurance getting to a specialist can be very difficult and thankfully to a very persuasive husband I was able to get into the specialist the next day. After about 40 minutes of waiting and Taycee showing off to all the older people, we finally got to see the doctor. We told him what was going on and immediately he told us we needed to head to the St. Joseph's hospital to be seen and there was a chance my eye sight might not come back because I had waited so long to see a doctor. Immediately panic went through my whole body. What was going on? I had no idea and I was freaking out. We left the office frantic, called my parents and were on our way to the hospital. After spending two nights in the hospital and having a spinal tap and two MRI's they finally diagnosed me with multiple sclerosis. They gave me 5 days worth of steriods to get my vision back because I also have what they call optic neuritis which is a symptom of MS. I have noticed improvments in my vision but they can say it can take up to 6 months to fully recover so right now I am hoping for a full recovery.

Honestly, I was scared to be diagnosed with MS and the whole time while I was getting my MRI I kept praying over and over that everything would be ok. Scott and I had been researching things on the internet trying to figure out what was wrong, so MS was something that we had read about, and new it was a possibility to have. While I was getting my MRI I had this overwhelming feeling come over me that said Natalie, everything is going to be okay. I knew after that that I was going to be okay and no matter what I had, I could live with it.

So as of right now we are waiting to hear back from one more test and then we will meet up with the Doctors down here to figure out the best plan for treatments. I say everything happens for a reason because there is no better place we could be at right now then right here in Phoenix AZ. The hospital we went to specailizes in neurological disorders and there is an amazing MS doctor here. I am thankful that we know whats going on with my body and am ready to start treatments and start fighting it.

We went to the Zoo with Scott's family while they were here. Lets just say it was a very eventful experience.

The whole time Taycee refused to ride in the stroller. She wanted to be a big girl and push it. When she wasn't pushing it she was throwing a fit. When we would finally let her push it she got the biggest grin on her face. Oh no! She already knows how to work the system!

I had never been to a zoo where there were so many freakin' birds. They were flying everywhere around us. They weren't part of the zoo just a bunch of crazy birds flying around very close to our heads. Well we were talking about how gross it would be if one pooped on us and the next thing we knew Scott got pooped on. It was very hilarious until the same thing happened to me. Ya after that I definitely kept a look out for what was above me! This is me getting the poop out of Scott's hair and thinking it was hilarious!

It definitely must have been mating season at the Zoo because not only did we get to see the turtles mating but we also got to see the tigers. Yes it was very funny but we didn't get the camera out in time to snap a picture of the tigers!

I don't know if we will be visiting the Zoo anytime soon. I think we had enough fun for quite a long time.

Happy Birthday Taycee Bug/Happy 4 Year Anniversary

Since Scott always calls Taycee "bug" I thought it would be fun to throw her a ladybug party. Thank goodness for a great friend who lives here who can make cake and was able to make an adorable ladybug cake. Thanks Kristen it turned out so cute :) The party was so much fun and we had a lot of friends come. Also Scott's parents and Crae came for the weekend and were able to spend Taycee's birthday with us. It was a busy day getting ready for it but I think it turned out great. I can't believe our little girl is one. I know I say this all the time but time has really flown by with having her in our lives. I can't even begin to explain the joy she has brought into our home. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for trusting us with one of his children and giving us the opportunity to raise such a happy baby. We love her so much! And also it was our 4 year anniversary! It kind of got put on the back burner while we were preparing for Taycee's big birthday party but I was definitely not forgotton by Scott. I got some beautiful flowers that day and he let me go pick out a couple of outfits at the buckle. I am so thankful to be married to him and love him so much. What a ride these past 4 years have been. 4 years ago we were getting married, a year ago we were having a baby, and this year we are celebrating a 1st birthday. I couldn't ask for a more special day!

Happy Easter Everyone!

This week lets just say has been very uneventful! That's because I have been a loner for the past 4 days. Scott went with the school basketball team to Kirksville, Missouri to play in a basketball tournament against the other A.T. Still University school. So Taycee and I have been doing a lot of shopping and walking around outside to pass the time. Scott gets home today and I am so ready to have him back!

On another note my baby is 11 months old tomorrow. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Its a bitter sweet feeling to think that next month she will be turning 1.

Some things that Taycee does at 11 months are:

Crawls everywhere

Loves her baths

Frightened of the Vacuum

Pulls herself up onto everything

Blows Kisses

Gives High Fives

Knows where her Belly Button, toungue and nose are

Won't stand alone even though she could if she wanted to

Yes, the flu bug made it to everyone in our family and I am pleased to say that made it through it and survived!

Road Trip/Flu Bug

Scott had a week for spring break and so we decided we would take a road trip back to Idaho and see family and friends. It was so great to see everyone and we had such a great time. It was exhausting but way fun. Can you believe I forgot my camera though? So I have no pictures of our trip. We stayed for a week. Taycee was such a trooper and did an awesome job riding in her carseat for 28 hours but....

when we got home last night I put her to bed and at about 4 AM she woke up throwing up! Talk about the saddest thing ever. So I changed her sheets put her back down and she threw up again. She did it about 5 times. The next morning she was still a little sick but tonight she has gotten a lot better! Bad news...Scott has it too! I am praying that I don't come down with it tomorrow!

Catch up

So I told myself that I was going to do better at updating my blog, but as you can tell I haven't done a very good job. This is a much needed catch up on my part. A lot has happened from the last post so this is a combined post of everything that has gone on. My mom recently came a week ago and spent a week with us. It was nice to have some help doing things and we actually got a lot done. We painted the whole house. It was quite a job but one that needed to be done so I am so glad that we did it. I couldn't have done it by myself (pictures to come soon).

Scott had Friday off of school so we decided to go and do some site seeing in AZ. We went to a place called Fountain Hills. This is the picture of the fountain that is so famous. It held the world record until 2002 for the highest shooting fountain. It shoots about 580 feet in the air. It was a pretty cool. At the park that surrounds the fountain was the world frisbee golf tournament so, we also got to watch some professional frisbee golf players (didn't know that was such a big deal).

A while ago we took the kids to the Phoenix Zoo. It was so nice to get out with some friends and enjoy the beautiful weather before it turns scorching hot again!

Taycee turned 9 months yesterday! We took her to the doctor and her measurements were:

Length-30 Inches 97 Percentile
Weight-22.6 Lbs 95 Percentile

Yes, she is still a big girl :)

Here are her 9 month milestones:

-Started to crawl about a week ago (since then I swear she has bonked her head like 20 times)
-Pulls herself up onto things.
-Waves bye bye
-Gives huge wet kisses
-Points at everything
- Shakes her head No
-Sleeps with two binkies-She holds one in her hand and the other in her mouth and spits it out and replaces it with the other one. This is how she falls asleep at night
-She still has no teeth

She is such a joy in our lives and we love her so much. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. In 3 months she will be 1! CRAZY!

We knew Idaho was going to be freezing cold compared to Arizona so we had to find something warm for Taycee to wear. The cold was quite a shock for her, especially with the wind chill!

It was so much fun dressing Taycee up in her first Christmas dress. Thanks to Grandma Liz for the cute outfit!

Taycee did not like Santa Clause this year, in fact she hated him. Whether it was Santa at the mall, or my dad dressing up like Santa Clause, she wanted nothing to do with him or the big red hat.

And finally New Years Eve with friends. It was so great to see everyone and their new babies. We miss you guys a ton and can't wait until we can do a friend trip when we are all out of debt! Ha-Ha!

Christmas was a blast this year, especially with a baby in the family. It was fun to visit family and friends, but it was also nice to get back to the warm weather (we really don't miss winters).

I know I know...I have been seriously slacking since Halloween and updating our blog, very pathetic! But I do have a good excuse. I left my computer at my dad's work during Christmas break to have it fixed and it just got mailed out to me a couple days ago so I should recieve it shortly in the mail and then there will be some pictures to post...finally! :) We are enjoying the warm weather in Arizona and it was so nice to come back here after being in the freezing cold for Christmas. We had a great break and spent lots of time with family. Taycee of course is getting big, soon to be 9 months on Friday. Where has the time gone. She is so much fun and is such a people person. Everywhere we go she points at people and waves. It's so funny! Anyways our break was wonderful and when I get my computer back I will post some pictures.

Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year. Mostly because we got to dress Taycee up in her lamb outfit ( she was not to thrilled about it though.)

This is Kristen and her two little boys. Ryan was Max from the Wild Things and Ryder was a Wild Thing....so cute!!

Taycee is completely sitting up by herself. I can't believe how fast the time has gone....pretty soon she will be getting into everything, very close to crawling.

And Finally I have started Taycee on baby foods and if you can't tell by the huge smile she actually likes it. Her first food was squash, kind of wierd that she would like it that much.

She had her 6 month check up on Friday and once again she is still huge for her age. She is still in the 98th percentile for height and 97th percentile for weight. What can I say....we have a very healthy, happy, smiley little girl and we love her to death!

Over labor day weeekend I got to go home and spend some time with my family. It was so much fun to get away from the heat and to actually enjoy the weather. Yesterday we went to an Arizona Diamondback game with Tyler and Kristen. It was a lot of fun, even though we sat really close to the top of the stadium. We took Taycee swimming on Saturday for the very first time. It was so funny to see her reaction. She was in absolute heaven. She thought it was a big bathtub and just lounged around for a while. It was really hot so we weren't able to be outside for very long but so fun to be in the pool in our neighborhood. I can't wait for it to cool down outside so Taycee and I can make more frequent visits.

And finally, I booked my plane ticket home for over labor day weekend. I am so excited to go home for a little while even though Scott won't be able to come with me which is a bummer, but I am really excited to go to Sun Valley and hang out with my family.

Taycee's favorite things

Taycee has started to love toys, or anything that can fit in her mouth. She recently has found these two favorite toys pictured below. The one right below is her favorite. She tries to fit all of it in her mouth at once and she hates it when you take it away. I am not sure where she learned how to throw a fit but I am pretty sure she learned it from Scott not me. So when you take this little toy away she screams and arches her back until you give it back and then once again she shoves it into her mouth. It's pretty funny! The jumperoo pictured at the bottom she also loves. She is starting to see that she can play with all of the items on it instead of putting them in her mouth. Its so fun to watch her expressions when she hits one of the things on it and it makes a noise.

Getting Bigger

I can't believe how fast time has flown by. Taycee is now 3 months old and is definitely developing a personality. She is so much fun to be around and she loves to talk (or try to). We really have a fun time with her. However, she is developing her way to throw a little temper tantrum. She has learned how to arch her back and does it alot when she is angry and wants something. She also likes to throw in a grunt every once in a while when she is throwing her fit. We love her though and you can't help but laugh at her even though she is really mad! Arizona is great and we are getting used to the heat (well getting there). We have made some friends and are so excited that there are some good LDS couples in Scott's dental class. Scott has started school and they are already long days from about 8-5 and then later that night studying. Taycee and I hang out, usually in our pajamas and then about noon or so decide to get up and do something. Here are some recent pictures of Taycee. Note: in all of the pictures she was smiling but by the time my dang camera took the picture she was done smiling.

Finally an Update

It has been crazy the past couple of weeks between the 4th of July, packing and unpacking and Scott's white coat ceremony but finally a couple of minutes to update the blog and let everyone know that we are still alive. We finally made it to Arizona. We did the drive in one day and Taycee was such a trooper! It was a long day but we were glad we made it in one day. The next morning we started bright and early and moved all of our stuff into the house. That day it was 118 degrees outside and really it hasn't been anything less since we have been here. We love the house and feel so blessed to be in the neighborhood that we are, with a lot of LDS people around us. Thanks so much to both of our families who helped us make the move a lot easier and a lot quicker. We would still be moving into our house if it wasn't for them. Today it was Scott's first official day of dental school so he had his White coat ceremony. It was so awesome to see him walk up there and get his white coat. What an amazing accomplishment and well deserved after all the hard work he put forth to get to this point, only four more years and then an official dentist! I am really proud of him and I know he will do awesome in dental school! And finally some cute pictures of Taycee. She has been so fun to watch grow up and is almost 3 months!! Wow has the time flown by but we love her and she is a blessing in our lives. I have a feeling we are going to be best buds over the next four years!!

On Sunday June 7th we got to bless our beautiful baby girl. It was such an amazing day. I was so proud of Scott and the amazing blessing he gave Taycee! I was so nervous for the day because I didn't want Taycee to start screaming in the microphone but she didn't even make a sound! After the blessing we went to my mom's house and had dinner. We had Taycee's pictures taken a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun. I love how they turned out! Katie Wells did a great job! She is getting big so fast and is already a month and a couple of days old. Time flies when your having fun and busy! Life has been crazy and we have had to adjust to the new life, but we couldn't be happier and we love the new addition to our family. I have to say she already has Scott wrapped around her little finger. Its so cute! We are busy trying to finish up on all the things down in Arizona and are starting to prepare for the big move in July! What a couple of busy months we have coming up.

Introducing...Taycee Taylor Holm

I'm sorry this is so late but here it is...better late than never I guess. It all started at 2:45 in the morning...let me say that again 2:45 in the freakin' morning!! It ended at 6:59 the next night. Whewwwwww...I bet you are feeling bad for me right now (this is Scott by the way)...haha. So Nat woke me up saying that she was having contractions and of course I didn't believe her. She told me that, "I'm having contractions..." and I replied, "Well, what do you want to do about it." I don't think she is ever going to forgive me for making that comment. Turns out it wasn't false labor at all, she was telling the truth. We arrived at the hospital and they told us that we were there to stay. Came with 2...will leave with 3! After 17 hours and about 1 trillion visitors later Taycee Taylor Holm showed up at 6:59 p.m. weighing in at a whopping 8 pounds and 15 ounces, and measuring 22 inches long!!! Nat's dad said that we skipped the infant stage and went straight to the toddler stage. We honestly couldn't be more happy with her. She is healthy and hasn't cried very much...I hope that's a good omen. The first thing that the nurses noticed was her big dimple on her left cheek...thanks to me of course! I had to say that because everything else on her definetly came from Nat. Nat had a rough labor but is doing good now, just gettin' a lot of rest...she loves drugs! Also, soon after she was born the nurses came into the room and asked us to get our cameras because we were going to give Taycee her first bath. This was a rough experience. It was going good, I was scrubbing her with a little sponge and then I leaned in to scrub her back and out of no where the faucet started pouring cold water on her head! I just sat there and thought to myself...why is this happening. Little did I know that there were foot pads on the ground that controlled the sink and I was stepping on the one that apparently turned on the cold water! Yeah, just another experience I will never be forgiven for!

House in Arizona

Scott, Jim, and Liz went down to Arizona to find us a house a couple weeks ago. After looking at tons and tons of houses in the heat of Arizona they finally made an offer on a house. Little did we know that getting a house would be so hard. When they got home from Arizona we got a phone call saying another couple had made and offer the same day and we both had to make blind bids to see who would get the house. We ended up getting the house with a bid 200 dollars more than the other couple. We are really excited about it and excited to move to Arizona. We can't wait to be able to call a place home for four years without having to move! And even better news......the baby is due in 7 days!

On Friday Scott and I graduated from College! He graduated in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and I graduated in Elementary Education. We are very excited to be finished and now we can have the baby the next big step in our life!

Baby Shower

Yesterday I had my baby shower. It was so much fun to get together with my family and friends, some friends I hadn't seen in a while. I was very spoiled and recieved many gifts that will help Scott and I raise this baby girl. Thanks to everyone who came and for the awesome gifts. It was so much fun! I am now 35 weeks and only 5 more to go. I am ready for this baby girl to make her entrance into this world!

Happy Birthday Scott

Well its Scott 25th birthday on Friday the 20th. I know he is getting old. I know that his birthday isn't for a day but yesterday one of his presents I got him came in the mail and I had to let him open it. I was more excited for it than him.

Yes, thats right I got him a little girl North Carolina cheer outfit. I think he was a little shocked to find that for his birthday he got a baby present. HA-HA. It just so happens that he was also wearing his sweatshirt yesterday so I made him take a picture with it. I love it, and now she can watch the games with him! (Great way to get him to babysit) :)

Also Scott had to have a mole removed on the side of his head and the whole time I heard that he was going to die of cancer, well the results came back and yes you guessed it definitely not cancerous so that was very relieving. These are his stitches. He had 5 stiches and had them taken out today except for one and I am supposed to take out that final stitch in a couple of days. Not sure how I feel about that.

And finally the dreaded pregnant picture. Now keep in mind that the last picture I took was at about 25 weeks. I am now 30 weeks and I have tripled in size that is no lie. I have no idea where this baby is going to go for the next 10 weeks because I already feel like there is not enough room. Also I think I will stick to taking pictures in black shirts because they really are so much more slimming!

My friend Megan from Georgia has been asking me for a long time to put a pregnant picture up and I have been constantly telling her no, but today I decided I would do it just for her. So Megan you should feel very very special! We miss you guys a lot! This is me at 25 Weeks! And we still have a lot more to go!

Today we went and got our 20 week ultra sound done and it is a girl! I knew it the whole time and so did everyone else except Scott. I think at first he was a little disappointed because of course every guy wants a baby boy, but I think he will get used to the idea when she comes. Actually I am pretty sure that she will have him wrapped around her little finger. The other great thing was that everything was looking healthy. The doctor checked the heart, brain, and everything else and said everything looked good so that was a great! I of course am very excited for a little girl and can't wait to start buying things for her. She weighed 11 ounces which the doctor compared to the size of a can of pop.....so still not very big but growing at a rapid rate and so is my stomach for sure!

Well Nat is making me write something in our blog so here goes. Saturday (Nov. 30th) I got a phone call from a wierd number. I thought it was someone from the ward asking us to speak in sacrament. Well to make a long story short it was the head of admissions at the Arizona school of Dentistry and Oral Health and he told me that I was accepted. I was pretty shocked and I think Nat already knew what had happened before I had even got off of the phone. So not a bad day. Also in a couple of days we get to find out what the sex of our baby is so December is officially the one of the best months of my life.

Well we went to the Doctor today and got our first ultra sound and it is official there is actually something in there with a heart beat and moving around doing flips!! It was so neat to see the ultra sound and amazing to see that there is actually a baby growing inside of me. I am officialy 12 weeks and 2 days (not as far a long as they thought I first was) so that puts the due date at May 3. Just in time to graduate from college and then have a baby. It is an overwhelming but amazing feeling to know that we are going to have the opportunity to be parents. We are quite nervous but know that everything will be just fine.

So while we were in the Doctor's office the doctor looked at Scott and asked him if he wanted to play Doctor or Dad in the delivery room....Scott just looked at him with a confused look and the Doctor said...well if you want to help catch the baby I would love to have your help. He was pretty excited about that, but says that he is still not sure if he will have the stomach for that...ha-ha

Also while in the Office and looking at the Ultra Sound we saw something a little funny and the doctor goes ...."Uh-OH" both Scott and I said..."WHAT?" and he said hold on a minute....meanwhile we are waiting wondering what the heck is going on.....he points to something and he goes see that....I think that could be another pair of feet...."WHAT"????we both said.....Hold on he said and he starts rubbing the thing on my belly all over the place....Keep in mind that I have had these dreams about twins and have been really nervous that there was two in there, ....but after searching for a while he said.....that must have just been the umbilical cord.....oh boy....I thought both Scott and I were going to pass out...but he said it was not another baby so.......I guess thats good...that would have been a tough little while with two babies instead of one!!

But we are very excited and feel very blessed and are very nervous and anxious for the new adventures that lie ahead of us!

Halloween

We love Halloween. Last year we had such a good time dressing up as a chicken and a chef. Except this year we are having a hard time coming up with costumes that are going to top last years. So if anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful

California Trip!!!

We just got back from California with Scott's family and it was a blast! We went to San Francisco, Disney Land, L.A., and Hollywood. We got to see the Broadway play Wicked and it was just as good as it was in New York. It was a fun vacation with a lot of driving. Lets just say we did a lot of family bonding time in the 14 hours it took to drive there and back!
